Charlie's New Lyrics
Below are poems/lyrics that I feel need to be put to music.

Some are failed attempts at collaborative songwriting, but I still like the lyrics -
maybe YOU can write some music to them.

I'll be adding more as I get the time.

If you want to write music for these lyrics, E-mail me.

I Thought We’d Be There

I decided long ago my – Love for you would matter
Making everything else out there – Just a faded attraction
Then I saw you out there reaching
And I knew that I should have been there – Just to reach out to you
Standin’ with my back before you – Staring in a mirror
Starin’ back I see me eyes and I – Wonder what’s inside them
Want to be the one you turn to
Everything I seem to try babe – does even more to hurt you
I’m Tied up and Cried out and Tired of
The hardness, sadness, should have been over now
I’m burned out, way up inside and I’m crying ‘cause
I thought we’d be there by now
All along the way I thought we’d – Find a place that lovers
Go to taste the sweetest fruits to eat - forgetting the others
You should be the one who’s near me
When the others move away and – they intend to desert me
Maybe we can take it back when – We felt infatuation
Maybe we can see it through this time – And with a little patience
We will be the pair they envy
And I won’t have to stop pretending – You’re the lover for me
So Tied up and Cried out and Tired of
The hardness, sadness, must go away somehow
We’re so far, way far away and I’m crying ‘cause
I thought we’d be there by now
C-part:
Days are moving fast and faster by
Should we try to catch one?
Hide under covers,Try to be lovers, lover
See if we can make it last this time
Show them that our past’s gone
Living like lovers who
Made it – There somehow

Stumbling Along

 Seasons Changing
As we grow from the old to the new
Reason Strained
We don’t even know what we went through
Whitewash Painting
Where colors deny their own hue
Tearing, tainting
So we don’t really know what’s true
Like there’s nothing else left to choose
Seems like we’ve been down this roadway before
And it seems like we’ll go there again, my friend
Too many signs that we chose to ignore
So we don’t even know where we’ll be at the end
We stumble along to the grave
Avoiding the roads that we pave
We crumble below all the weight
Of the useless things that we save
Eyeballs tearing
From staring too long at the sun today
Loosly leering
At pitiful struggle and battle and fray
Sidewalk rearing
Survival is not what it’s cracked to be
Gently fearing
That the person inside me is me
Like there’s no-one else I could be
Raising our hand to the sky
Hoping someday we will fly
But a look never leaves an eye
No matter how hard it may try

Don’t Wanna Go There

Hey, I don’t wanna go there
Aimie, I don’t wanna go there
Your place is nowhere
I don’t wanna go there
Ophelia, her daddy’s girl
Knew to tell that Hamlet no
But Amie knows where Amie goes
Her entourage is sure to show
It’s an LA thing, boys, with lots of bling toys
She rattles, sparkles and overflies
With cheap emotion, love implosion
She thinks she’s bi – but that’s a lie
Amie’s got eyes but Amie can’t see
There’s more to a life than a drive to be free
Thinks she has class and higher than thee standard
But taking for free whatever she’s handed
Nobody Knows where Amie lost her soul
But I don’t wanna go there
Evereyone told me Amie just got cold
And she forgot how to care
And I don’t wanna go there with her
Her desires start blazing fires
That smolder away with each new daylight
She’s too wired and way too tired
To know what’s wrong or do what’s right
She’s gotta be on and she’s gonna be gone
Cameras, lights, it’s a midnight show
It’s Aimie’s world, she’s a TV girl
An hour of laugh track – now it’s time to go
On to the next one and on with the play
Her Mantra is how to live life in a day
It’s over the top and a slam back to bottom
Believing she’s had, ‘lest she knows she’s got ‘em (by the balls)
Nobody Knows where Amie lost her soul
But I don’t wanna go there
Evereyone told me Amie just got cold
And she forgot how to care
And I don’t wanna go there with her
